So, got moved. Three days without net was…fun. Catching up on what you miss with three days without net is even more fun.

And my back is still tender. But thanks to all the friends who showed up and helped us out. We’re grateful.

For everyone else out there, either getting started in your own place or moving yourselves, I will share with you the prayer I cast the night we moved in to hold us until I got the wards up, and that should hopefully still be going. Most of you hopefully know the “Hammer Rite”, though for those of you who do not, here it is:

“Hammer of the North, hallow and hold this holy stead,
Hammer of the East, hallow and hold this holy stead,
Hammer of the South, hallow and hold this holy stead,
Hammer of the West, hallow and hold this holy stead.”

This is a pretty common blessing for Heathens when we need to set an area aside with divine protection. Feel free to use it in your own spaces.

But as someone who is (hopefully) to soon be walking the Path of Hel within Heathenism, I decided to modify it a bit to suit Hel better. Hel likes to guarden, and I’ve taken up for her flowers as her holy symbol (I’ll show the one I made soon). So my blessing went like this.

“Flower of the North, Blessed of Hel, hallow and hold this holy stead,
Flower of the East, Blessed of Hel, hallow and hold this holy stead,
Flower of the South, Blessed of Hel, hallow and hold this holy stead,
Flower of the West, Blessed of Hel, hallow and hold this holy stead.”

Getting Started should resume soon.
